If you have concerns about the safety or welfare of a child or young person you must contact the Initial Response Team on 0191 566 1500 (available 8.30am-5.15pm Monday-Thursday, 8.30am-4.45pm Friday).

Or the Out of Hours Team on 0191 528 9110 (also available 24 hours Saturday and Sunday).

To make a referral to the Children's Social Work Service please download and complete the Child Protection/Safeguarding Concern Referral Form ( 849kb). You must send the referral form to the contact details listed on page 4 and not to the SSCB.
