BEING ABLE TO JOIN IN (making a positive contribution)
A group of 5 - 11 year olds at Young Asian Voices have worked together to come up with a list of things which explains what 'Making a Positive Contribution' means. Read the list and see if you agree
- Do good things, be good for people, support your community
- Work hard, do well at your SATs
Help others when needed
- Stay healthy
- Care for your family
- Be kind and polite
- Have good manners
- Be respectful
- Do not kill, no stealing
- Be sensible, be strong, be well behaved, be proud, be honest
- Be fab, don’t fight, don’t bully
- Having a job
But not all children in Sunderland are able to join in
- some children aren't asked what they think about important decisions
- some children get into trouble and break the law
To make things better Sunderland Children's Trust will
- get more children to have a say in things which are important in their lives
- help children and young people to stay out of trouble and not break the law
