Being Healthy | Staying Safe | Enjoying and Achieving | Making a Positive Contribution | Achieving Economic Well being | CAF for over 11's

Welcome to the section of the Sunderland Children's Trust website specifically designed with young people aged over 11 in mind.

What is the Children's Trust?

The Government talked to young people and asked them what they thought were the most important things they needed to have a good life.  This piece of work was called Every Child Matters.   The young people came up with the 5 things below.

  1. being healthy
  2. being safe
  3. being happy and proud of yourself (enjoy & achieve)
  4. being able to join in (make a positive contribution)
  5. having enough money to live on (achieve economic well being)

There are lots of organisations in Sunderland working with children, young people and families.  They have come together as a Children's Trust, to work together to make things better for all children and young people in the city.

The Children’s Trust has now developed the CYPP which consists of a fifteen year commissioning strategy, the ‘CYPP Strategy 2010–2025’ (pdf document 1.30mb) and the first of five three year delivery plans, the ‘CYPP Delivery Plan 2010– 2013’ (pdf document1.95mb) complements this.
